Cassius Spears (Narragansett/Niantic), founder and director of the Narragansett Food Sovereignty Initiative that strives to maintain and restore indigenous agricultural knowledge and practices. Cassius also works with the USDA to facilitate supportive Tribal-USDA projects keeping with tribal values and priorities. A respected member of his community, Cassius is known for his traditional knowledge, he continues to live off the land, and shares these practices with our youth. Cassius can also be found sharing these skills and traditions on film, (Askiboyz), onset, (Crooked Arrows) and as cultural advisor (We Shall Remain, After the Mayflower).
