Bronx Native, Divad Durant (he/him) is a screenwriter/director/artist/community organizer and NYC firefighter who creates portals to find rest, reflection, and refuge in new worlds. Co-Producer and director of “Sweet Samara”, a short film about a black farmer who uses sugaring to support abolitionist work, to be featured in Black Public Media’s AfroPop. Writer and Co-producer of short film, “Goodnight Sun”, shot in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and featured in the Nation for its international collaborative process. He’s been the recipient of the digital media fellowship for Black Public Media (2013_, The Laundromat Project’s Create Change Fellowship (2013) and Intelligent Mischiefs Black content Development Fellowship (2022). He is also a member of Diverse Filmmakers Alliance.
