Edyka Chilomé is a queer literary artist, performer, educator, and cultural worker based in Dallas Texas. Child of Central American and Mexican migrant activists, she was raised in Indigenous led social justice movements grounded in the tradition of spiritual activism. Praised for her authentic and powerful voice, Edyka has been asked to share her poetry and speak on social justice issues on multiple media platforms and in spaces around the country and Latin America including, NPR, Tedx and The Texas Democratic Convention. Edyka holds a B.A. in Social and Political Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago and an M.A. in Multicultural Women’s Studies from Texas Woman’s University. She is often found sharing poetry and stories that touch on colonization, indigeneity, womyn, spirit, art, and diaspora.
