Orion Camero is a Filipine genderqueer artist, coalition-builder and narrative organizer that mobilizes community action through the arts. Their work spans local to global: translating key grassroots demands and frontline knowledges into art, from CA State Water Board hearings to the United Nations climate talks. Orion wields information and research inside of impactful creative interventions to empower advocacy. Examples of distinctions include winning the 2015 Brower Youth Award, a 2017-2018 Spiritual Ecology Fellow, a 2020 Assembly member of ArtPlace America’s “Local Control, Local Fields” Initiative, and a 2023 Aspen Institute Future Leader and 2024 Aspen Future Leader Alumni Committee Member.
