Sarah Bounse Consulting

Sarah Bounse works alongside individuals and organizations to develop and implement anti-racist and equitable services, policies and practices to transform institutions and systems towards liberation and health for all. Her expertise lies in racial equity work. Sarah has developed organizational equity policies/practices, facilitated anti-racism initiatives, and led authentic community engagement strategies throughout her 10+ years of experience.

In her own consulting firm (Sarah Bounse Consulting), she harnesses her skills as a facilitator, strategist, trainer and community organizer to best serve those most harmed by systemic racism and oppression. Sarah partners alongside large and small organizations, nonprofits and businesses throughout Middle and East Tennessee in her work. She has taught systemic racism and racial equity workshops, facilitated strategic and action planning processes rooted in racial equity, and provided coaching support in their organizational anti-racism efforts.

Sarah has previously worked full-time for local health departments, including Metro Nashville Public Health Department and Knox County Health Department (Knoxville, TN), as well as academic medical centers (Vanderbilt University Medical Center) to increase the knowledge, understanding and implementation of equity into those organizations.

She currently volunteers as the co-lead for the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum’s Nashville chapter and as a member on Metro Nashville Arts Commission’s Committee for Anti-Racism and Equity. Sarah was also selected as a fellow for the 2021 Mosaic Fellowship cohort.

She has a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Tennessee.
