Shawna Shandíín Sunrise is a Diné (Navajo) /Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo) filmmaker, educator, photographer, multi-media installation artist, performance art, actress, activist, producer, director, organizer and a 5th generation Diné traditional weaver. She learned all the aspects of creating through both her parents, weaving from her Dine mother and traditional performance & organizing from her Kewa father. Sunrise is the owner of an Indigenous Design Company called “Make It Beautiful Designs “ (“Nizhónígo Anílééh”). Sunrise feels her current work is evolving to a level of creative insight that is about establishing a communication bond rest of the world.
