Keith BraveHeart is a multimedia artist and arts educator. BraveHeart is from the community of Pejuta Haka “Medicine Root” (Kyle, SD), and a citizen of the Oglala Sioux Tribe (Titonwan; Oceti Sakowin). BraveHeart attended the Institute of American Indian Arts (Santa Fe, NM) and received his MFA from the University of South Dakota (Vermillion, SD). He is an active artist and advocate for contemporary Native American art and community-engaged arts. BraveHeart has been involved in Native Arts education as both a student and instructor for twenty years. He currently holds the position of art instructor at Oglala Lakota College.
