In protest of 100 years under occupation by the American Government, Native Hawaiians gathered at ʻIolani Palace during an Onipaʻan event giving speeches, playing music, and being together in solidarity. It is at this event that Aunty Haunani Kay Trask gave her infamous speech, “We Are Not American”, which you can watch here.
